Words of Wisdom from Coach JG! It was great to have Jean-Gilles Larocque on the podcast again, we talk some hockey, baseball and sport in general along with the lessons learned through athletics. Coach JG has a ton of knowledge in coaching, training, skill acquisition and mental performance. He founded The Baseball Academy in Sudbury ON, where he focus’ on baseball primarily but also trains athletes from different sports both physically as well as on the mental part of their game. These are always fun conversations diving into the impact our coaches had on us, the types of coaches we’ve become and why, how to be an effective coach, building an effective culture and the importance of evolving with the game. We also dive into skill development and discuss some of the crossover from other sports into a players primary sport, the importance of acquiring skill and how to chose a good skill coach.
