A Strong Young Man! This was a great conversation with Jukka Schotter, a very interesting young man. Jukka shares a huge loss that he and his family have just faced with his mother Gabi losing her fight with pancreatic cancer. Jukka discusses the charity that he’s started in honour of his mother @CardinalStrong where he’ll embark on challenges to help raise funds and awareness towards research for a cure for pancreatic cancer. Jukka’s first challenge will be hiking the Bruce Trail from Niagara to Tobermory a 885KM, month long journey that he’ll tackle this summer. Jukka also shares his hockey journey as a goalie and the impact that his mother had on his playing career from minor hockey, Jr, the OHL to Europe and life after hockey. Jukka has a great outlook on life, despite hockey being a big part of his life he has many other interests that he is excited to pursue now that he is done playing. There are a ton of great stories, insight and advice from a player, person and son who’s been through a lot in his young life. I really enjoyed and appreciate Jukka coming on and being so opened and honest. We hope you enjoy the Episode!
