Earn It!! It was a lot of fun to talk with Mitch Brooks, at the young age of 25 he shares some interesting perspectives and insights into his hockey journey. Like many players Mitch had a minor hockey wake up call when he was cut from his AAA team at 13, he talks about how that may have been the best thing that happened to him. Mitch speaks about the importance of his support group, his open and honest relationship with his parents and how he took a difficult situation and with some hard work and help turned into a positive outcome. Mitch has worked for every opportunity he’s received in hockey, he talks about the lessons learned from playing Jr C hockey, to Jr B, trying out in the OHL, playing in the BCJHL and on to playing CIS hockey for Western University. I really appreciate Mitch coming on and being open and honest in sharing some great stories with a ton of great take a ways for parents and players navigating their hockey journeys.
