Are you coaching Novice (Mite Red/White) hockey this season? Don’t know where to start? Do you want to make sure that you are providing your players with a solid foundation for their hockey skills?

Are you a parent who stepped up to coach because no one else would? Did you play hockey growing up, but don’t know how to teach the game, or what ages players should be learning certain skills? Do you know how to perform the skills yourself, but aren’t sure how you would teach them to your players or what language to use?

This is a guide for Novice/Mite hockey, put together by NHL Skill Development Coach, Dwayne Blais. It provides you with an in depth look at the 12 skills kids at this age level should have a strong grasp on, what order you should teach them in, and how to go about teaching them.
