What is it?

This is a guide for coaches, parents, and volunteers working with atom hockey players, put together by NHL Skill Development Coach, Dwayne Blais. It provides you with high quality teaching videos taking an in depth look at skills and how to break them down that players at this age level should be able to perform. We follow a chronological skill order building from one skill to the next with key teaching points for each skill, examples of drills and notes to help you coach on the ice.

This guide is for parents who stepped up to coach when no else would, volunteers who are helping young players or moms and dads who have played hockey but aren’t sure where to start. This guide will help you map out your season development plan, making it easier and more time efficient to plan your practices. This development program will help you organize each on ice session allowing you to spend more time helping young players improve.

We will provide examples of useful drills that incorporate key skills, help you create your own drills and enhance them by adding new elements to make drills fun and effective for your players.
